    What is Conversational Hypnosis?

    Thursday, March 13, 2008, 06:30 AM [General]

    What is Conversational Hypnosis?

Conversational hypnosis is the act of communicating directly with a person's subconscious through casual conversation. Practiced by psychologists, copywriters, and motivational speakers, Hypnotherapists, NLP Practitioners, Conversational hypnosis allows the speaker to en-trance an audience to achieve the desired results.

The hypnotist uses shifts in tonality, language patterns, linguistic skills and cues to impact on the actions of those around them, in a casual, unassuming way.

With the implementation of these skills, the Hypnotist is able to bypass the person's conscious critical factor and deliver powerful and meaningful messages directly to the subconscious mind, where it can then be acted on without the person's conscious red-flagging.

By learning conversational hypnosis, a hypnotist can develop an influence over their associates, friends, and colleagues. The art of subconscious persuasion allows them to suggest an idea to the people around them and watch it followed through, without them ever being aware their actions are being influence. The hypnotist develops a rapport with their audience, and then uses words to influence and control their actions.

As you learn conversational hypnosis, you, too, can develop these techniques. As you practice your new hypnosis skills on your friends and family, they will be unaware anything unusual is taking place. They will, in fact, be completely oblivious to the hypnotic trance you are weaving over them, using only the power of verbal suggestion.

A person can, you know, begin to immediate think of many uses these skills could be found as useful... and within an instant realise they have a strong inner urge to learn more.  What I'm curious to know is whether you have ever imagined going to a Hypnotherapist and becoming truly successful in life.  With me, I know success is easily achieved that way.

Conversational hypnosis is especially useful for marketers, copywriters, and salespeople. Imagine, being able to motivate your audience to purchase your product by instilling them with confidence in it, subconsciously. Imagine being able to predict your client's behaviour, before they act. The art of hypnosis through conversation allows you this power.

If you struggle with successful communication, or have difficulty in your personal relationships, you may be interested in learning more about conversational hypnosis. Doing so will improve your interpersonal skills, and convince your loved ones that you are someone to pay attention to. This casual, risk free method of hypnosis can revolutionize the way that you interact with those around you.

This indirect method of hypnosis concentrates on the power of language to influence human behaviour. Words are powerful, and conversational hypnosis techniques take advantage of this power. Use the power of words to your advantage, and watch your relationships improve. If you're struggling with interpersonal relationships, or interested in becoming well respected in your career field, conversational hypnosis may be a technique worth looking into. This phenomenon is more common than most people realize, infiltrating advertising, sales letters, and major marketing campaigns. Each of these fields uses the power of persuasion to appeal to human emotion and hypnotize the audience. You, too, can be a successful communicator and marketer by using the power of hypnosis in your daily conversation.

    Evolution of the art.

    Monday, March 3, 2008, 09:58 PM [General]

I remember way back to when I was only twelve years old.  My parents had decided to take me to see a mystical performer who made people into poultry.... Now this is something I had to see!

That Thursday night, I remember as clearly as yesterday.  There was a stage hypnotist (Martin St. James for those who wonder) up ahead of hundreds of people, waving his hands around like a conjurer of the dead, talking about getting sleepy, letting go and going all the way down.

Being only young and having a mind that was easily bored, my mind was projecting itself into people up on the stage, wondering just what was going on in their heads.

It wasnt until I noticed these two huge gorilla-like council workers stomp their way up onto the stage, where what seemed seconds later were spinning around in circles, arm-in-arm as... the worlds' most beautiful swanlake ballerina dancers.

I was sold... my eyes were NOW open!

What I noticed from that night onward was how the rest of the world still had their eyes closed (no pun intended) when it came to Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.  Here is something that can get right to a persons problems, something that everyone experiences daily, something that has existed for centuries and something that has gone under the radar - except for when the stray psychologist uses it incorrectly, then it's Page One!

Even I found myself gaining qualifications in areas of mental health that were deemed as more "socially acceptable", just to shirk my own false association with hypnosis and that of the dark arts.  And now, as I look back on my own journey and chuckle, I wonder how many other people have found themselves doing something that doesnt mesh with them, all in the name of social acceptance...

A person can, you know, begin to think about all those times where they put other people's views ahead of their own.  And whilst sometimes that is needed, sometimes it isnt.  And in that moment of realisation, we awoke to our own destiny, dedications and direction.

I wonder just how much one can continue to develop before they let go of all those old negative belief structures and begin to step into something much more rewarding for them.

From my own experiences, people can in a single instant, STOP... and think differently.  Now, I think THAT is worth think about, isnt it?

And now, as I think all the way back to that time, there... I wonder just where I will find myself in another 10, 20 and 30 years time.  Perhaps it will be bright and blinding, I know i'll find myself grinning at least like a Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland :D

Why? You may ask?  Because I love Hypnotherapy.  I love being able to help people escape the possibility of a decade of psychotherapy in return for trusting themselves enough in Hypnosis.  I love running into said psychotherapists and informing them how their referred client has healed and watching the therapist pull a face like they've just sat down to eat a plate full of juicy tangy lemons.

My view of success is to love life and love doing what you do best.  For me, that is helping people with Hypnosis and their own wonderful and amazing abilities.

It seems my own awareness of my own development has coincided nicely with my views of society's awareness of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

Perhaps my subconscious mind decided to allow me to mark time in other areas of work in order for society to open with more acceptance to hypnosis.

We all begin at the start and take step after step from there.

Where will your next steps be?

    Well, hello there :)

    Thursday, February 21, 2008, 07:59 PM [General]

Over the course of many years, I have dedicated myself to Hypnotherapy, Hypnosis and all things Hypnogogic.  It is from this dedication that I discovered this great new community via Cal's ever-popular website.

With a background in Cognitive Research and qualifications in Clinical Hypnotherapy as well as certifications and training out the kazoo from Mottin Institute, Omni Hypnosis and the Banyan Hypnosis Center (to name a few).

I am currently training in Ultra Height and completing a Diploma of Life Coaching (you wouldnt believe the RPL on that one!).

Shortly, after renovations are completed, I will be establishing a new hypnotherapy centre (Australian Centre of Hypnosis) in Melton, Victoria (20mins west of Melbourne).

Feel free to contact me as I love to discuss anything hypno with anyone.  (My colleagues accuse me of being too enthusiastic about hypnotherapy... *smirk*)
